Convert OFX/QBO/QIF files to QFX or fix QFX files

Import into Quicken, QuickBooks Online, Xero or your accounting software

Need to convert your OFX/QIF/QBO files into QFX format or fix an incorrect QFX file?

Bank2QFX converter from ProperSoft converts bank, credit card files in OFX, QIF, QBO format to the QFX format. In addition, it can open incorrect QFX file as well and make it follow the QFX specification.

QFX files are importable by many accounting systems (online or desktop) like Quicken, QuickBooks Online, Wave Accounting, YNAB and many others.

Import into Quicken

Quicken imports QFX (Web Connect) files directly into bank or credit card accounts.

Note: Quicken does not import category details through an QFX file as QFX specification does not have any placeholders for category details. Quicken offers the "categorization" feature during import and the renaming rules to assign categories based on payee and memo details.

Import into QuickBooks online

QuickBooks Online imports OFX files and sometimes QuickBooks may refuse to import your OFX file. Use Bank2QFX to make your OFX files importable. You may also use Bank2QFX to review existing QFX files (look what is inside an QFX file)

Convert from Quicken for PC/Windows to QuickBooks Online

Quicken for PC/Windows allows to export transactions as the QIF format (export each account separately to make your conversion process easier), and then use Bank2QFX to convert to OFX and then import into QuickBooks Online.

Note: QuickBooks Online does not import category details through an QFX file (or another format like CSV/OFX/QBO as these formats do not carry the category details). The reason for that is the following: QuickBooks links every transaction to a vendor record, and an expense/income account and these accounting details are available on QuickBooks Online. The matching process in QuickBooks Online (review after import) is simple, and QuickBooks learns from you as you work with your transactions.

Convert from Quicken for PC/Windows to Xero

Once you have QIF file exported from Quicken on PC, you can use Bank2QFX to convert QIF files to the QFX format compatible with Xero accounting system.

Similar to QuickBooks Online above, Xero provides an interface to review/match transactions after import.

Unlike QuickBooks Online, Xero supports additional columns like Reference and Check the number on CSV files, and Bank2QFX provides values for these columns as long as the source has the details. The reference is usually available in OFX/QFX/QBO files and the check numbers are available in OFX/QFX/QBO/QIF files. QIF files combine the Reference/Check number and usually have the check number available. Bank2QFX parses all compatible/importable details and saves them in the CSV file.

Convert your transaction file to a compatible OFX file and import into your accounting system

Bank2QFX tries to parse your OFX, QFX, QBO, QIF files even if the files are not following its specification. Once the transactions are inside the application, you can convert them to an QFX file following the specification, so your accounting software that previously rejected your QFX file or could not import a QIF or OFX or QBO file will import your transactions now through a correct QFX file.
